What is mobile marketing?

Mobile marketing is a specific form of advertising that markets to people using their mobile devices.

What is a “keyword”?

A keyword is the word that is used as the name for each mobile campaign you create. It’s usually best to create a keyword that corresponds with your business name.

What is a “short code”?

A short code is a number that a user would text a keyword to so they could opt in to your  mobile messaging list.

What does it mean to “opt in” or “opt out”?

To “opt in” is when someone texts your keyword to your short code or mobile number  and subscribes to your list . To “opt out” is to unsubscribe from a list.

How does text message marketing work?

Text message marketing is a form of marketing that is permission based (meaning that before sending a marketing message to someone’s mobile phone, that person must have initiated the relationship by opting in to receive messages).

You can promote via mobile (e.g. text “HUNGRY” to 416555 ) using signs, print materials, radio, television, websites, etc. This allows people to opt-in if they are intrigued by your offer (e.g. discounts, coupons, special offers, free giveaways, etc) . You can message subscribers to your list in the future and send a broadcast. As your list grows so does the potential for additional revenue for your products and/or services.

I have concerns about sending spam messages; how does MobiTact deal with that?

When a user opts in to your list they have given consent for you to send them mobile messages so it’s not spam if you send to them. We at MobiTact are compliant with and adhere to all CAN-SPAM regulations for best mobile marketing practices.

Are there any limits to how many messages I can send out?

There is no limit to how many messages you send to your list. Our recommendation is that you only send messages when you have something of value to promote. People tend to unsubscribe from a list when they receive too many messages and/or receive messages that are not of significant value.

What is a QR code/mobile barcode?

A mobile barcode (also called a quick response code or QR code) is a unique barcode that lets your audience instantly learn more about your business’ products and/or services. They let you reach consumers anywhere at anytime. Barcodes change standard media methods into a viable alternative which can be interactive and quantified even using print, radio, television, posters, billboards, product packages and more.

What is Location Based Advertising?

Location-Based Advertising (also known as LBA) merges mobile advertising with location based services (e.g. Foursquare, Yelp, Yellow Pages, etc). Businesses can use location based advertising to pinpoint the location of customers and provide specific advertisements to mobile devices.

I don’t have the time or expertise to run my mobile campaigns on my own, can you do that for me?
